hi there
i am going to hongkong tomorrow a few days ago my sis in hong kong asked me to buy her an electric blanket so i can take to hongkong.
i spent a couple of days checking on the internet, calling all suppliers (myer, david jones, in bondi, the goodguys, kmart, Big W, Target) trying to find a good one, but everyone said: this is summer! we dont carry electric blankets anymore. My research also says that sunbeam has problems with the controls and is not recommended.
with a lot of calling and checking, i finally went to retravision and bought a 'delonghi', the last one in store with a big discount ($150) i was happy and thought this is a good brand and a good deal.
last night, after finished work at 12.30 am, i started to assemble the blanket and found that it has a very clumpsy system, 2 wireless controls responding to a sensor which is hooked to a hub!!!!! it took me 45 min to get it sorted and started, and all thru the night, i woke up several times, put my hand on the blanket to check the temperature of this stupid blanket to see if it works, (just like testing the temperature of a sick child !!!
unfortunately this blanket was 'cold' despite all my TLC and i started to get very anxious. i have only one day (today) left to get another one but i did not have the slightest clue as to what and where to buy a good one, and i do not want to disappoint my sis.
at this time, i started to resort to the 'gohonzon' (www.gohonzon.com )and chanted to find a blanket with a fleecy top and easy and simple controls, just like the one i have. after chanting, i let my wisdom carry me along and started to make phone calls. in one hours time, i found that David Jones in downtown has a very nice brand, 'klikk', it has the size i want, queen size, fleecy top and easy and simple controls, and, to add to my joy, there is a 60% DISCOUNT!!! it only costs $95.00 .
(by the way, they still have a few in different sizes, anyone who wants a good one at a good price should go there!)
i can still remember 10 years ago a senior hong kong sgi member said to me: if you chant before you do anything, the result is like day and night! this is soooo true, initially i did not chant to find this blanket and wasted a lot of time and effort and got a bad one, but this morning, with my 20 min chanting, i got the perfect one, its cheap, beautiful and excellent (peng, lang, tseng - our chinese slang)
cheers
