My Wonderful and Interesting Experiences
in New Zealand and Adelaide 2003
I took my grandchildren to New Zealand (Christchurch ) for eleven days in mid-July - main purpose is to see the snow. I had no idea when there would be snow, this is something which is really hard to predict, but I chanted and just made all necessary bookings anyways. Actually, Christchurch does not normally snow.
When we arrived in Christchurch , the weather was good but I thought we would just make arrangements to the Hot Springs and the Snow Field, two different areas.
Later, I saw the weather report saying that it would snow on Thursday, but I did not know where is the most likely place and I asked the Gohonzon to guide me along. I was then told by a bus driver that the Hot Springs would be an ideal place.
On Wednesday morning, before we left for the Hot Springs , the Hotel Manager told me that the weather report had changed and there would be no snow on Thursday.
I was a bit disappointed but as I had made the arrangements, we went ahead to the Hot Springs . When we arrived at the Hot Springs on Wednesday, the weather was perfectly fine, blue skies, sunshine, etc. so I thought, OK, we would have a nice time riding bikes etc. - at the back of my mind I still hoped that I would see the snow. Funny enough, on Thursday morning, it did begin to snow and during the whole day, we had heavy snow and by the afternoon, the whole village was WHITE and the children can play with the snow along the streets. All the roofs of houses and trees, roads are covered with snow and it looked like a postcard - this is exactly what I had dreamed of seeing.
This is to tell us that, with faith, we really can achieve anything, and when things initially did not turn out to the what we had hoped for, do not lose hope, just hold on to the wonderful picture in your mind and you will definitely get what you want.
Kangaroo
This is a real story. I took the children to a National Park in Kangaroo Island , on our way we saw three kangaroos on the opposite side of the road, by the grass land. I stopped my car and the children went across the road to play with the kangaroos and I just sat in the car watching.
Then a kangaroo came to me and stood right next to my car looking at me. I then said to him that I had nothing to feed him, all that I have, is Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo. I looked at him and started chanting. You wouldn't believe it, he stood still, had his ears up and actually was listening to my chanting. I chanted for about five minutes and he just stood there listening.
Then Ryan, my grandson, picked some leaves and tried to use the leaves to guide him back to the grass. He ate the leaves, but started looking at me again and did not move. I had a feeling that he needed the chanting, and I chanted for another five minutes. All the time, he was standing in the middle of the road looking at me. (By the way, this is a very old kangaroo)
Finally Ryan tried to chase him away, but he just would not move, then Ryan said that if I move away, he would go. I then very very slowly drove up about ten feet and looked back, HE was still there looking at my car. I then saw another car coming and was afraid that this car would hit the kangaroo. I stopped my car and blinked the hazard signal, the car then slowly steered away from the kangaroo. It was then the kangaroo moved back to the grass.
You may not believe it, but I could really feel the kangaroo, looking into his eyes, that he asked for the chanting.
Goose
The next day, we went to another wildlife park and we took a muddy pathway to the pond. On arrival, the children tried to feed the birds, the ducks and a goose. I just sat on a rock by the pond.
Then a white big goose came to my side. I was actually quite scared but the goose brushed himself on my coat. I then started chanting and Ryan said he wanted to go. You know what, I again had no food for the goose but the goose was, initially following me, then it took charge and walked in front of me guiding my way back to the footpath. It walked right along the footpath ahead of me as if showing my way, all the while I was chanting. It took me right back to the entrance gate of the footpath.
It is totally unbelievable. It is a wild goose and it seemed to know its way and actually DID bring me back to the gate.
To be honest, I felt like chanting more and more after what I have seen in the animals. I do realize that Nam Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo is for everything in the universe. Its really powerful and there is buddhahood in all living things.
I cannot wait to share this incredible and wonderful experiences with you all.
Regards,
